"Saturday night A&E"

About: Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust - Queen's Medical Centre Campus

Unfortunately I found myself in A&E on Saturday with a high blood sugar reading and a ketone reading. I have only recently been diagnosed as a diabetic and so it is all very novel and at times quite scary. I had an extremely efficient streaming nurse and was quickly directed to an appropriate waiting room. Although we had to wait 2 hours (the streaming nurse was very upfront about the probable wait and expected time) to see the doctor when I did see the doctor, they were lovely and incredibly patient. I felt confidence in what they said and left feeling calm and happy. I felt incredibly well looked after from start to finish of my visit. I can not fault the hospital on anything

Thanks for getting in touch and sharing your experience of our Emergency Department.

I’ve passed your great feedback to my team. It’s great to hear that while the department was busy (as it typical for a Saturday!) that our team kept you well-informed about the next steps in your care and timescales for your treatment. Lucy Thow, Emergency Department Matron
