"Argyll Ward and Delivery Suite fantastic"

About: Derriford Hospital

I gave birth in Derriford hospital on November 5th 2015. The staff on Argyll Ward were fantastic.

The midwives were caring helpful and listened to all my worries and concerns, they were always available and provided a first class service. I cannot thank them enough for all their care. I also wanted to add that the nursing auxiliaries and staff providing food and tea and coffee were equally cheerful, reassuring, friendly, professional and helpful. I felt safe and reassured throughout the delivery of my daughter.

The ward has several rooms, I was in a room with two beds which was clean and had windows you could open for fresh air, it was comfortable and quiet and provided privacy but also the ability to chat to the other mother in the room.

The delivery suite was clean, friendly, professional and staffed by excellent midwives and doctors including the Anaesthesiologists who were all first class. At no point did I feel that my wishes were not being taken into account and I felt safe and confident in the care that I was given.

I cannot recommend the staff and service provided at Derriford maternity department highly enough.
