"Admittance and release from the hospital."

About: Whitchurch Hospital

(as the patient),

I was admitted into the hospital after a bout of very bad depression where the side effects such as hallucinations made me unsafe to myself and the people I lived with. I was admitted straight from the A+E unit with only my phone on me. Upon the day of my release I was made to leave with no money, no phone battery and no house key. They let me phone a housemate to make sure someone was there to let me in, however she was out, which I told the staff. I had to borrow money from a person at the train station, then walk 20 minutes from the station to get home. The ward staff were aware of this situation (I had told them I had no battery or money) and still made me leave. Considering my mental state at the time, this could have ended terribly. I think there needs to be more precautions taken when Patients leave.
