One day in mid-October, I was knocked flying when quite a heavy gate was caught by the wind. I crossed quite a distance and landed on flag stones/concrete strangely, and thank goodness is didn’t hit my head elbow or shoulder. Hip taking full force. We live in a town and luckily being a Sunday, my family were around. I am on my own quite a lot. I have an alarm button coming this week. Am very active 83 year old!
I have absolutely nothing by praise from start to finish of my stay in Grantham hospital and since coming home. The ambulance arrived within 30 mins, travelling the 25 miles from Stanford. The 2 man crew were absolutely great – we had one or two laughs. I received immediate care and attention in the fracture clinic. Taken to fracture ward. The hip replacement was next day. Because of my pain, the team had difficulty injecting my spine with anaesthetic, finally they did succeed. The consultant team, doctors, nurses etc Physios – al so caring professional etc etc 10/10!
Food to be honest – not as good a standard as 3 years ago, but adequate, some nice.
"excellent care!"
