Since early this year I have been on a journey of treatments and procedures to deal with my cancer. After all the talking down of the NHS I was pleasantly relieved to find Torbay Hospital and the many staff members helping me to be professional, kind and caring; and the Hospital appears to be in blooming health.
One particular nurse stands out. After my latest day surgery on the 29th October this year, I came round a little worse for wear with the usual mix of aching and apprehension. But this was soon dispelled by the atmosphere of good humour, efficient care and healing in the recovery room, largely emanating from another nurse but also taken up by their colleagues. Dare I say, it was infectious. I left hospital feeling well looked after and optimistic about my prognosis in the hands of such quality staff.
