I had my pre operative assessment 2 weeks ago. The downside is my letter said 'pre op clinic' which I could not find on the map. Turns out it's next to the 2012 ward! Please amend this on your patient letters as I was nearly late and missed the appointment looking for a place that doesn't exist on the hospital maps. However, I was seen straight away (after another patient started shouting at me and the nurse who took me in because she waited longer than me - but that isn't the staffs fault). Nurse went through everything with me then told me I needed to have my vitals taken, which I was called in straight away to do. Then after that I was asked to go down for a blood test in pathology where I was seen straight away. Only downside is the staff aren't very friendly and don't put you at ease, staff are more concerned about gossiping about X Factor with each other than engaging with their patients, had they been engaging with their patients you'd have got a 5 star rating.
I will do a further review after my surgery tomorrow.
