"late miscarriage"

About: King's Mill Hospital

On April 10th I was given the shocking news my baby had no heartbeat. This was my 20 week scan. Everything was explained carefully to me and was not rushed. Two days later the contractions start. I rang ward 14 and they told me to come in. They had saved me a bed. The nurses was fantastic for the situation I was in. They gave me gas n air for the pain and gave me the privacy I wanted. After I had problems with bleeding the nurses and doctors was straight there. Then I got to see my baby he was so beautiful.

Later a nurse came in and gave me a memory box with hand/foot prints of my baby. We spoke for ages and this was when the nurse had finished their shift. The nurse explained everything to me. I wish I could remember the nurses name. The only complaint I have was the cleaner that came in singing n dancing and told me to cheer up. Then in a joke way accused my partner and I of having sex in the bathroom. Apart from that the nurses n doctors fantastic.

Well done.

Response from King's Mill Hospital

Dear reviewer,

Thank you very much for your comments, and for taking the time to post your review following what must have been a traumatic time.

However, we are really pleased to hear how well you were recently cared for by our staff at King's Mill Hospital and this has been shared with the staff involved in your care. It is disappointing that the cleaner wasn’t made aware of the situation, to show more respect, and this is an area we can look into address further.

If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact us directly on PET@sfh-tr.nhs.uk

Kind regards,

Communications team, Sherwood Forest Hospitals.
