What I liked
The speed with which I was dealt with upon admission.
I ended up being admitted with strange abdominal pains following a couple of trips to A&E. Taken up to a ward to take blood to check for infection (other tests came back inconclusive), it was discovered there was a problem. By 9am the next morning I was in surgery and evidence of a ruptured cyst and inflammed appendix was found.
Post-operative care was brilliant and the doctors and nurses did a great job of reassuring me as well as dealing with my multitude of visiting friends. They made a really scary process very professional and supportive!
What could be improved
My test results were lost twice in A&E, which was a little frustrating.
Anything else?
I've chosen to come back to UCH to see a specialist in December because of my experience in May - staff made a really good impression and have been superbly helpful all the way along.
