After suffering a heart attack at home I was rushed to A&E where I spent most of the day. After X-rays,ECGs and other treatment which was a bit of a blur I eventually arrived on Manvers Ward.
From that moment the care I received was exceptional and the staff were nothing less than angels in my opinion. Each person involved in my treatment always introduced themselves and made it easy to talk to them if I had any worries.
My stay lasted ten days and the compassion, kindness and understanding I received was undeniably wonderful.
I cannot thank the staff enough for making my stay so much better than I would ever have expected.
The only downside to all this was being put in the discharge suite which I thought was a terrible place and didn't afford time for my husband to bring my outdoor clothing to the ward.I realise beds are scarce but surely you can find a better way of getting patients off the ward and homewards.I just found the room so unwelcoming in stark contrast to every other place I had visited during my stay.No detriment to staff there who again were really good.
