"Exceptional care in the saddest of circumstances"

My brother was recently in the care of the Critical Care unit at the Walton hospital as a result of an accident. I could not have been more impressed by the exceptional level of care offered. The one to one nursing care delivery was amazing to see, provided free by the NHS to those in the utmost need. The nurse's professionalism and consideration balanced with their compassion and understanding for the plight of our family at the bleakest of times was a comfort beyond measure.

We met various consultants and anaesthetists who were professional, clear and empathic when delivering consistently upsetting news and who took the time to answer questions and were compassionate but honest in their delivery. We stayed at the family on site accommodation which is a new facility and was so comforting and welcoming in a time when facilities and proximity to the hospital were crucial. The facility offered laundry facilities and as we had flown over in an emergency to Liverpool we were so grateful. We are very thankful to the care and dedication of staff and facilities provided.
