"Children's a&e"

About: Torbay Hospital

I brought my daughter in because she was extremely wheezy. By the time we saw a doctor she seemed a lot better and I felt like we would be sent straight home. Instead, the nurse and doctor took a thorough history and talked about her symptoms. We left with some steroids and a suggestion that it might be asthma related. Within 24 hours my daughter had vastly improved. Without the doctor taking the extra time I have no doubt we would have had to return to the gp or hospital and the doctor prevented that.
