"Poor Communication"

About: Scunthorpe General Hospital

The surgical procedures were fine and carried out professionally, but the communication regarding treatment plans is non-existent.

I had an initial 10 minute appointment in the clinic and the doctor seemed to rush me out the door after a quick examination.

The doctor said the Secretary would call me to arrange the procedure but this never happened. The doctor also casually mentioned something about a lump but never said what it might be or how they were going to check it out.

The surgical procedure went well after some confusion over the appointments but there was no follow up appointment to discuss how that went, what was happening next or about the 'lump'.

I contacted the Secretary and they fobbed me off saying that I had no appointment scheduled and they'd be in touch.

Hello, thank you for your feedback. I'm sorry to hear the communication was not as good as it could have been, please could I ask you to contact our patient advice and liaison team so they can look into this? You can email them on nlg-tr.pals@nhs.net or ring (01724) 290132. Kind regards, Sarah Mainprize
