"Amazing, sensitive attitude of staff"

About: Forth Valley Royal Hospital / Accident & emergency

(as a relative),

My mum suddenly became ill and died of brain haemorrhage within 5 hours of being admitted to FVRH.

The sensitivity, care, honesty and coordination/liason of care was appreciated by my family and ensured mum was comfortable in her last few hours. The staff in Emergency Department were sensitive but honest about mum and exceptionally caring. They allowed us to spend our time with mum and thought of things we hadn't in our shock.

She was moved through to Acute Assessment unit in a side room and mum had privacy, dignity and comfort ensured. Again staff were very caring and sensitive.

Nothing but praise for the staff involved in the whole journey and that includes the girls at reception in Emergency Department.

Dear Mags family

Thank you so much for taking the time to leave such lovely feedback about your mum and your families recent experience within the Emergency Department and the Acute Assessment Unit.

It is such a sad and difficult time for you and your family, please accept my deepest sympathy at the loss of your mum.

I have shared your posting with the staff of the Emergency Department and also the Acute Assessment Unit, the staff appreciate your kind words and support. It really is a morale boost for the staff to see that the care they give really does make a difference and has such a comforting and lasting impact on patients and their families.

I would like to wish you and your family my very best wishes for the future.

Kindest regards

Pauline Marland
