"Overall, a good experience"

Overall a good experience. Never had a colonoscopy before, so a bit apprehensive, elected to forego the offered sedation in favour of gas and air. The nurses were brilliant at explaining and making me feel comfortable. Apart from the 40 minute delay for which they apologised, and the dehydration headache, the actual procedure was occassionally mildly uncomfortable, but that was alleviated easily by the gas and air. The unit is very clean, the staff were very nice and recovery was straightforward

Thank you very much for your comments regarding your recent experience in having a colonoscopy.

I am pleased to read that you found the nurses were very clear in their explanation to you of what would be happening and that they helped you to feel comfortable.

Unfortunately, delays are sometimes unavoidable but I hope you were kept informed. I am also pleased to learn that you found the unit to be very clean and that your recovery was straightforward.

I will forward your kind comments to Rose Riley, Endoscopy Unit Manager, and to Beverley Baker, Matron for Endoscopy who will be delighted to ensure that your feedback is shared with all of the team who work very hard to ensure a positive patient experience.
