"Dissapointed how little communication going on"

About: Doncaster Royal Infirmary

Just visited my auntie aged 81 tonight, brought in due to problems breathing.

Not only did the nurses not know if she had had a wash today or even clean underwear but they are saying she is goong home tomorrow as she has a chest infection and on antibiotics.

When asked how she will cope without oxygeon a nurse didnt realise she was on oxygeon, what did they think the tube in her nose were?

My auntie has memory problems yet she knew more than the nurses.

It still seems that age matters in the care you get, its as if she is too old to bother about.

Nothing changed since my mother was in hospital 23 years ago.

I have a lot of respect for the hospital staff but this just is not good enough.

Thank you for your feedback. We are really sorry you were disappointed in the service your auntie received recently at our hospital. We would like to look in to your concerns and would ask if you could please contact our Patient Advice & Liaison Service (PALS) on Tel: 01302 553140 or Freephone: 0800 028 8059 or Email: pals.dbh@dbh.nhs.uk who will be able to investigate this further on your behalf.
