We would like to express our appreciation for the care and treatment my husband, Cyril received following a TIA on Thursday, 29th October.
From the paramedics who attended to him at home and delivered him to A & E at Torbay, to the outpatient staff including ultrasound, MRA, and CT scan operators, the nurses who accompanied us to the various departments, the pre-admission nurses, the anaesthetists and nurses in the Surgical Admissions Unit and, most important of all the doctor who explained everything in great detail before carrying out a carotid endarterectomy.
We must also thank the staff on Forrest Ward for the post-operative care plus a special mention goes to the student who was present at pre-admission, came over to see my husband on the Surgical Admissions ward, observed the operation and then popped in to see him again on Forrest.
I was an employee in various different departments at Torbay over a period of 23 years and it might be thought that I would be a little more critical of the service – nothing could be further from the truth.
Well done – you should be proud of yourselves!
"Superb, caring and professional treatment"
