"Having a proper meal makes a huge difference"

The girls from Constance are awful good. They give me my breakfast, lunch, tea and then help me get ready for bed. I must admit it really helps me to get a shower and my breakfast made. Some of the carers are better than others of course. I also like getting my rota on a Saturday so I know who’s coming; I haven’t received it this week but that’s unusual, it normally comes on time.

I pay for an extra half hour at tea time so I can get a proper meal. I was a cook myself and I’m not a fan of packet food. I perch on my stool in the kitchen and give the girls advice with the cooking. This makes an awful lot of difference, having a good meal.

I also pay for a cleaner to come.

Constance took over my care this year. The carers with the previous company were in and out in no time. It’s much better now.

I also like having the carers for company, I wouldn’t see anyone otherwise. I really don’t know how I’d cope without them.
