"Family experience of end of life care"

About: East Surrey Hospital

My mother was admitted to Tilgate Annex in October and died there 2.5 weeks later. During that time the care she received was excellent and the compassion with which my family were treated was exceptional. Although my mother was dying the level of attention never faltered. All the buzz words are relevant to our experience, care, compassion, dignity, honesty and straight talking. The attitude of all staff we came across was excellent from the person who came round with cups of tea to the nurses, doctors and consultants.

Dear Anonymous

I am very sorry for your loss, it must be a very sad time for you and your family/friends.

I know that the team on Tilgate annex will appreciate your feedback which embodies everything I know about our team on the ward, it is motivating to receive feedback like this. I will send your comments to the team.

kind regards

Nicola Shopland
