I attended the walk in on Tuesday after burning my hand severely on Sunday, and attending my local A&E where the nurse directed me to go to Barts 48 hours later, as it is near my place of work, to have it cleaned and the dressing replaced.
There was no one else in the waiting room when I arrived and I was booked in promptly and called in by the nurse who preceded to give me a hard time around why I was there and didn't go to my GP.
After an argument where I asked to see someone else & their manager, I was told there wasn't anyone else available, they agreed to treat and dress my wound, however used a pair of scissors which weren't sterile to cut the burns blister and was fairly rough with the treatment.
Very unlike the lovely nurse I saw at A&E at London Hosp.
Needless to say I was in pain and sensitive and was horrified at the care I received, I could name and shame but I wont.
I recommend you go somewhere else to have treatment.
I also recommend the nurses need some training in communication
"Treated awfully- Bad attitude and didnt want to..."
