Thank you for your feedback which is very helpful. I am so sorry that you did not like the food which was provided , this is an area about which we usually get every good comments and it is disappointing that you did not have such a good experience. I will make sure our catering team receives your comments so they can improve any aspects of the service which are needed.

Thank you also for your comments about visiting times. It is very difficult to please everyone about this but we have moved from more extended visiting times to restricted times to allow patients who are unwell the opportunity to rest and to allow ward work to be done which can be very difficult when there are a large number of visitors on the ward. It is important that we have time to do both the routine jobs such as cleaning and of course clinical care such as patient observations, medicine rounds and of course ward rounds so that patients have a safe well managed environment during their stay.

I am very sorry that your meal times were interrupted by doctors doing ward rounds. This should not have happened unless urgent other urgent care has prevented the doctor from attending at usual times. We do have protected meal times to try and avoid this . I will ask our Matron to look into this and remind our clinical staff that this should be avoided where possible.

I am pleased that you enjoyed having access to the internet and note that you would have liked more activities on the ward. We do have a library service and of course bedside televisions which for short stays are usually sufficient for people who are ill. For patients in wards where longer stays are involved such as elderly care, or in the children’s ward , we do often have activities available.

I will feed all your comments back to our patient experience group and I am very grateful that you have taken the time to let us know about your experience of our services.

Kind regards

Lorraine Lambert
