Had a total hip replacement in September. Consultant surgeon and all nursing/theatre staff fantastic. McKenzie King staff very reassuring on admission and Boddington Ward nurses deserve a medal especially those on 20th September when only 3 day staff for 28 patients. However the food was appalling. It wasnt just me but my other ward companions felt the same. The only thing we all ate was cereal at breakfast. One day all main choices had cheese in. I am allergic to it so ended up with a sandwich which was so dry you had to drink water with each mouthful. ISS staff said it was a new menu. One of the ancilliary staff had a row in the corridor with a nurse who had asked them an hour earlier to get a patient in our bay a cup of tea and was checking hy it had not happened. The nurse was nice and calm the support staff member was shouting they had lots to do on two wards. Didnt think how much those nurses had to do. Totally unprofessional and not what the nurses needed that day. The nurse in question was quite upset. As patients it was upsetting for us seeing our nurses spoken to like that.
"Great treatment shame about the food"
