"Despicable behaviour from the Nurse"

About: King George Hospital

My old and fragile mother was taken in because of her Asthma and had to stay over night and her english language wasn’t very good so she obviously had difficult with communication.

They forgot to give her the medicine that was proscribed to her by the doctor, and about 5am in the morning she was coughing so load, one of the nurses was shouting and telling her off, my poor mother was in tears and couldn’t explain to her that she was unable to breath, it got so serious they had to put her on emergency medication.

This is disgusting.

Can you imagine old people who don’t have families to visit them, who are they going to complain under these abuse?

Really disappointed with the services.

Thank you for leaving your comment on NHS Choices. This is certainly not the standard I would expect of my nurses and I am concerned to hear about your mother’s experience. I want to make sure this investigated. Please contact me through our PALS team on 01708 435 454, or by email PALS@bhrhospitals.nhs.uk.

Yours sincerely Wendy Matthews Interim Chief Nurse
