Arrived 10pm with injured child (minor cut) at hairmyres nhs trust hospital east kilbride scotland .. looling around count approximately 8 other "Clients" and we are told the rough waiting time is 4hrs. This is not exactly a rapid response and this is a good night apparently the wait is longer so why is the trust not employing more staff or are we to ecpect a total collapse of system during a major incident
Compared to other hospitals from extensive world travel Germany using private insurers 30 mins using generic around 1hr. Spain in major resort around 1 To 4hrs when busy ( ie fully waiting room) else typical 45 minutes. In smaller local units with only a few staff members the wait can vary from 30 minutes to 2hrs
"waiting times in a & e."
