(as a relative),

My husband was referred for cataract assessment by his Optician, mid March 2015. Due to either Referral Management, or Hairmyers Hospital loosing the initial Referral, he did not have his surgery till the end of October! ! ! ! During this time we made endless phone calls, had a 2nd Refferall submitted. He is due for his other eye to be done, and we have major concerns this has happened! ! ! ! ! ! ! We cannot praise Ross Hall highly enough, as it seem to us to date they have been the only service to treat him with Any Dignity or Respect! ! ! ! !

Dear Not Acceptable,

I am sorry to hear of your husband’s experience following his referral for cataract assessment in March this year. This is not the standard of care we expect at Hairmyres.

I would like to look in to the reasons for your husband’s poor experience and to make sure this is not repeated for his second referral or for any other patient referred for cataract assessment.
