I was very disappointed by the Circle Bath. The surgeon's dismissive arrogant attitude when I developed an infection added insult to injury. I was ill for 4 months before a subsequent emergency procedure revealed what had occurred in my operation.
I did submit a detailed review but my complaint was deemed to be too serious to publish in this forum. Which is unfortunate, as it is how a hospital responds to adverse outcomes that most clearly demonstrates the quality of its care.
Be aware if considering this hospital for a procedure that there is no Emergency facility to return to when an emergency subsequently arises, indeed if one arises while you are there you will be transferred to the RUH, which is why only low risk patients for straightforward routine procedures are accepted there . Nor is there any interest in problems that do develop until after an emergency procedure (or 2 ) is undertaken by the local NHS Hospital.
Even then only after a complaint is made to the CCG. At least as an NHS patient I have them to turn to.
The food at the Circle Bath is absolutely outstanding, if the doctors were as dedicated as the hotel services team it would be wonderful.
Having received outstanding treatment at my own expense, in 4 other private hospitals over the years, I was very disappointed, perhaps special contempt is reserved for NHS patients. The RUH may not have such fancy packaging but the staff there are far more caring.
