My wife complained of severe chest pains and I took her straight to A&E. She was suffering from a chest infection that the staff commented on but they also treated her as though she might have had a cardiac episode and ran various tests.
Good news is that she did not have a heart attack but does have atypical pneumonia. After being kept in overnight she was sent away with antibiotics that look like horse pills and some kindly suggestions about taking it easy.
All the staff from A&E to the Acute Medical Unit were fantastic. My wife was not made to feel stupid and treated with dignity at all times.
Christmas hamper on the way.
PS. We didn't have to pay for the drugs which came as a surprise. Bear that in mind next time you want to knock the NHS!
