"Wonderful care of elderly Father"

About: John Radcliffe Hospital

My father was taken to JR2 from Thame Hospital after his health deteriorated over night.

He was admitted to the Stroke Ward 5A a very sick man.

We thought it was his end.

From the very first he has been treated with dignity and such devoted, care.

The nursing staff are superb especially one member of staff who is quite, quite wonderful.

We have always been kept informed and updated of the progress of my father, even receiving phone calls during the evening.

We have felt so confident of his care.

He has made a good enough recovery (a minor miracle!) to be moved today to SMH which will mean that he is closer to home but my father and my family have not found such care and kindness offered previously at SMH, but we keep our fingers crossed.

So hats off to the work of the wonderfully caring and kind team on Ward 5A .. helping patients with dignity; always with time to talk to concerned families and always with smiles.

Thank you

Thank you for taking the time to provide this lovely feedback; we're glad to hear that your father was treated with the dignity and devotion, as we would expect from OUH staff. We also expect our staff to provide consistently high levels of compassionate care, which includes such things as keeping family members well informed even in the unsociable hours. We're glad to hear that your father recovered enough to be closer to home and we hope he has continued to recover well. Your comments will be passed on to the teams concerned.
