I went for my first 12 week appointment at Royal London Antenatal. It said to be prepared to wait for 3 hours which is fair but by 4 hours with no indication from anyone of when my blood would be taken I became understandably distressed. Turns out they had lost my notes then when I finally got into the room for the nurse to take my bloods they seemed to accuse me of loosing them when I had never touched them! I wasn't crying but the nurse said "stop crying to me" several times to which I did start crying then they said to me "your distressing the baby" I asked the nurse not to speak any more as and the rest of my bloods were taken in silence. I left the hospital 4 and a half hours after I arrived and in tears. I have now transferred to Hommerton... so much better! When Hommerton went through my notes from Royal London they found them to be completely illegible with really tricky to read joined up handwriting and spelling errors such as my husbands name (David) was recorded on one sheet as Daniel. They also noticed some quite crucial mistakes. My ethnicity was recorded as South Asian on my scan report (I am white British). It was worryingly recorded that I had got pregnant through egg donation. This is not true I got pregnant via stimulated IUI with my own egg which I thought I had made very clear to them. The reception staff were polite and apologetic but I felt so sorry for them they had clearly had no training and seemed to have absolutely no idea what was going on. The whole experience was a complete contrast to Hommerton which all seemed so much more cohesive.
"Completely disorganised and rude nurse"
