We visited the minor injuries unit for my daughter's suspected broken finger. We had quite a long wait (3 hours), but had friendly, helpful communication from the receptionist team.

My daughter received wonderful care from the all the nurses and x-ray staff she saw - kind, smiley, and really professional and thorough.

One problem with the service (no fault of the staff involved! ) is having the x-ray open for shorter hours than the MI unit. We waited for 3 hours, and were seen just 10 minutes after the x-ray closed, meaning we had to return the next day for an x-ray and results, which took another hour and a half. This must make life really tricky for people without transport.

All in all, we were really impressed with the care we received. Thank you to the team!

Dear Simm,

Thank you so much for the feedback, I really appreciate it. I'm pleased the Abingdon team were able to look after your daughter in a such a supportive way and I hope she is now on the road to full recovery.

X-Ray opening times tends to be a recurrent theme in the feedback we receive and we are collating this information to present to our service commissioners although at this time the opening hours are outside of our control and we are unable to make these changes - I do understand the frustration though and will review current processes to see if there is anything we can do to prevent patients missing X-ray by such a short margin.
