I am a team leader at a nearby NHS hospital. One of my colleagues (an HCA) dropped his sick 9 month old child and partner off at your paediatric A&E at 6.30 am today prior to him coming to work. He was unable to get hold of his partner to ascertain the condition / outcome of his young son due to there being no phone reception. He struggled to get through to paediatric A&E via switch board so he came to me stressed and worried, appealing me to call on his behalf. I spent 20 minutes struggling to get through to paediatric A&E via switchboard. On four occasions I was put through to another department or to an automated message. On the 5th attempt,
I was put through to paediatric A&E and spoke to a very caring A&E sister who put our minds at rest. Thank you.
