"Appalling follow up service after what was good..."

About: Medway Maritime Hospital

Getting and having my appointment in the Borough Green Dermatology department was all fine and that experience was great - the doctor listened to me and gave me what I wanted. However, the follow up to that appointment has been dire. I now feel like I have been left high and dry and completely forgotten about. I was meant to get my prescription the week following my appointment after getting the results of a blood test I had done the following day, but I heard absolutely nothing.

I had to ring up and chase and I was given a lame excuse of "oh we're four weeks behind on processing" ... four weeks? Are you joking me? That is absolutely disgraceful and something needs to be done by the management team. To add insult to injury, the secretary had a very poor attitude and tried to make it out like it was my fault for not chasing them sooner. I should not have to chase anyone to to their job, especially when the doctor assured me I'd have my prescription the week after my appointment.

So when I chased, their secretary assured me that they would get the doctor to sign my prescription and send it out that evening first class. A few days later I have received nothing and am having to chase again. Useless.

In the meantime I have come off the medication I was originally on as the doctor advised me to give myself "a week off" and it's now nearly a month and my condition has got worse rather than better.

I am so disappointed in this service. Please can management do something to get a better process in place?
