The train I planned to catch was cancelled.
I tried to ring to explain this and to find out whether I would be seen if i was late, as it said in my letter that I might not be.
Got through to central appointments (the number given on my letter), gave details, put through to switchboard, repeated details, told I would need to speak to Clinic.
Put through to clinic - no reply, no facility to leave message.
Decided to try keep phoning whilst in taxi and also gave my son my appt details and asked him to keep ringing also. He also only got as far as switchboard.
Changed station to get the Hi speed link to St Pancras to get there as soon as possible .
Arrived there about 1.10pm.
Finally seen in clinic at 5pm!
Clinic was running 215 minutes late anyway!
Medical and nursing staff fantastic as usual (I am used to the excellent service provided at the Heart Hospital). Shame that St Barts haven't found it possible to deal with their communication problem - hardly rocket science, is it?
"Contact nightmare"
