Today at 12.15 i went with my husband as he got a blood test. we were called into cubicle 5. i followed my husband in so i could take his jacket and as other people were standing with their partners. As soon as we got into the cubicle the nurse looked me up and down and began to be very rude to me. They patronised me and humiliated me in front of all the other patients and nurses by proceeding to tell me "Go wait outside, you're not needed here, your husbands a big boy, i'm sure he can get a blood test without you holding his hand", before tutting at me.
I, not wanting to start a fight with someone who was about to put a needle in my husband left quietly without saying anything back. I felt I was treated with no respect and felt utterly humiliated after this experience. People like this, who verbally abuse other people for no reason should not be working with vulnerable people. i would have taken no offense to being asked to leave despite other partners being in the room as i would have still felt respected. This was a horrible experience and i hope necessary precautions are taken against this nurse.
For the hospital who may or may not reply too this, this incident occurred on 28/10/2015, at 12.15 in cubicle 5.
