"Poor A&E experience"

About: Lincoln County Hospital / Accident and emergency

(as the patient),

I saw a doctor at Lincolns A&E department on Tuesday and I have to say the doctor I saw was pretty awful. I had been sent up to A&E from the walk-in-centre (I had gone to the walk-in-centre to avoid going to A&E) after a fall at work and had been sent to the walk-in-centre by my physio. My initial assessment with the nurse was fine, she was great and very helpful.

Then I was called in to see the Dr and they were very dismissive straight away. they weren't even going to take a closer look at my injury until I asked them to. The Dr made me feel very foolish for coming to A&E even though I expressed that it was the walk-in-centre who told me to go, I was made to feel like I was lying about my injury.

I left A&E feeling relieved as I was told (by telling me across the waiting room) that there was no break and to just go home but also felt pretty upset at how I'd been treated and that the Dr didn't look at anything else or give me further advice. I've since been to another doctor who told me that there is damage to my knee (which this Dr should have picked up on and not just looked for a fracture) and have been sent for physio. If anyone asked me whether they should use Lincolns A&E department, since this experience I would definitely send them elsewhere. Up until this I only had good things to say about this department, but now I would avoid at all cost.
