"A and E has not improved!"

About: Hull Royal Infirmary

My 98 year old mother fell and gashed her leg badly.

I drove to A & E (as all minor injury units were closed)

There was nowhere to park and she could not walk from Argyle st!

I eventually dropped her at the main door about 6.15 and said to go and check in.

How is a 98 yr old with blood dripping from her leg supposed to use an automated check in service?

When I got to the unit I asked the receptionist if they had checked in-they told me Nno as it is automated you have to do it yourself!

We had to sit in an unbearably hot room on hard wooden seats!

The TV screen which is supposed to tell how long the wait will be was not working.

We waited endlessly to see a junior doctor and then had another endless wait for treatment (by a very nice nurse) We got home at 01.30.

HRI is the most dreadful place and red tape and beaurocracy seem to prevent it ever improving
