My mother has been in this hospital for the past 3 weeks. The involvement right from the beginning was to make mum and us aware and have good knowledge of her impending operation. The Dr took so much time getting to know us and we felt we could ask any question however small.
In each department she has been treated as an individual during her stay. After her successful operation, she had a longer stay in critical care than we imagined at the beginning (not due to any health needs missed )however the care, support for us was very high. The staffing was planned so she had continuity and new staff were always informed of whom we were and in a family were we siblings look similar the nurse always new us and never repeated the same information.
Once in Mallard ward the care continues - wow thank you all for the respect you have shown her and us.
In the time we have used all the facilities - even the restaurant staff have lightened our mood and had time to make us smile- many thanks.
Also a big thank you to whomever keeps the cool water topped up in the family room as at times we have sat there waiting and not ready to risk leaving to get a drink, we felt you guys were on our side all the time.
My only negative side is the waiting time, however it has been worth it regards to all
"exceptional care"
