"Acciden and Emergency and Critical Care ward"

About: Furness General Hospital

My husband was admitted by ambulance on 16th October.

When I arrived by car a few minutes later I was taken to a private waiting room and offered tea or coffee. A doctor came to see me then a registrar; both were very polite and kind explaining that my husband was critically ill and asking about my husband's wishes regarding life support and resuscitation should his heart stop.

I hadn't realised my husband was so ill so it was a bit of a shock but doctors and nurses were extremely understanding.

My husband was taken to the Critical Care ward where he was very well cared for and after a few days was much improved and was moved to another ward where unfortunately the care is nowhere near as good and about which I will write a separate review.
