"last night suddenly my eye became ..."

About: Wansbeck Hospital

(as the patient),

What I liked

last night suddenly my eye became swollen red and had a lot of yellow gunge comeing out of it. by the time i got to the A&E department i couldn't open my eye as it had became so swollen. On arriving at the hospital i was seen about 30min later by the nurse, i asked him how long and is it worth me waiting to see my gp in the morning. He told me about 1hr to 1 1/2 hrs i arrived at the hospital at 9pm, at 11.30 i asked the rude resceptionist how many people were to be seen infront of me, she said she would find out. At 11.45 i went and asked again, (she had not told me any answer) apparently the was 10 people in front of me. At midnight i had to leave, without been seen at all by anyone other than triage nurse as my mum who brought me into the hospital had to leave, and i would have been stranded.

What could be improved

we could have be kept informed the waiting room was piratically empty and we never heard anything and considering it was something with my eye i think i waited far to long. 3hrs and not seen. I hope i can get a gp appointment this morning. i know the staff work in difficult conditions and i understand if emergency come in but to kept infromed would have saved some angury people, also i think the receptionst needs some customer service traning not a plesant lady

Anything else?
