"Day surgery scheduling services"

About: Hillingdon Hospital

After to talking to my elderly brother who was scheduled for surgery I was appalled to find out he was not on the "List" and was told to reschedule even though he had a paper informing him date and time.

He was left to his own devices to find his way back home. Do you not reconfirm appointments either by phone or email ?

As I live out of the country I do not know the answers do you?

As many years ago I once was employed at the Hospital I was very surprised and disappointed to hear the care has changed to this extent...

Thank you for your comment. We base our admissions booking process around a patient's individual needs to ensure all patients are fully aware of their admission dates, sites and times.

This includes agreeing dates with our patients verbally, either face to face or by telephone, sending out admission letters (always with more than 3 weeks’ notice) and writing to patients to ask them to contact us to agree convenient dates and times.

As we regularly book admissions for the next day for urgent patients and to fill late notice cancellations we do not run a telephone or letter reminder service for admission dates.

All of our admission letters contain clear details regarding names and telephone numbers to call for any questions or advice.

We can only apologise for the confusion regarding your brother’s booking.

Please do not hesitate to contact me on my direct line - 01895279190 for any further information or help that I can offer regarding this matter.
