Due to an ongoing medical issue I have had 6 operations over the last couple of years and at a couple of different hospitals. Last week I had another operation and so spent the day in the Surgical Day Unit. Though I have never had a bad experience this was my best experience so far.
The girls on the yellow ward were lovely, helpful and caring even though they were very very busy. I felt very well looked after and they kept me cheery when I was waiting for my operation. Once I had my operation they were still lovely and kept me smiling - they even got my mum a cup of tea (though she is always there with me it was the first time she was offered a drink)
Also my anesthetist was the first one who has managed to get it so I wasn't ill afterwards!
Though this all probably seems small its made me feel more positive about my future operations and been a nice way to start my recovery.
"Lovely team"
