"NO BED SIDE MANNER"

About: Whipps Cross University Hospital

My first connection with Whipps Cross was when my Daughter was diagnosed with epilepsy, the wait for appointment and the waiting time to be seen once we got an appt was a disgrace,

I had to chase up all enquiries , the doctor just kept perscribing the meds , my second encounter was when I had my 4th child , I was 42 at the time and at high risk , we drove to Whipps Cross when I started heavily bleeding at 39 weeks, the reception was appaulling from the staff and the treatment was self care !!! no one came to see if i was ok , I was shown my bed and left to get on with it for hours .. the examination was brutal by a doctor , who showed no compassion to my condition ,

When I eventually was taken to the labour room where I was to give birth , the room was unclean with blood stained sheets, still on the birthing bed where I was to lay !

After giving birth I couldn't wait to be shown how to breast feed , so I requested the breast feeding nurse to come and help me , did they come no, i was discharged the following day , and only saw a follow up nurse at home when I chase it up ! Thank God, I knew what to do, I have worked for the NHS for 26 years and know all the right strings to pull.

After a week of being at home I self cared my stitches , but whilst in the shower I lost a hugh clot of blood which looked like a very large liver . I rung Whipps Cross Maternaty Ward for advise to be told it was fine it probably was a blood clot , not a mention of come back to the hospital to be looked at .... So you see my experience at Whipps Cross was horrific and these reveiws we write should be read and acted upon !!!!!!!!
