"Results of Xray"

About: Leighton Hospital

My wife had a xray on the 12 October 2015 and was told that the results would be with GP in two weeks time.On checking with the Xray department today 26 Oct I was told the the results have been sent to to her GP. Having spoken to the GPsurgery a short while ago I was told that they dont have the results.

This is the second time that this as happened it this last few monhts once with me and now with my wife

I can only suggest that procedures need to be reviewed

Please accept our sincere apologies for the delay in accessing your results. Without specific patient details we are unable to respond to this specific issue. Results are sent electronically to the GP surgeries.

This is an automatic process once reports have been authorised. The Medical Imaging department has had a new IT system installed and we are aware that in the early changeover period there was a delay in both the reporting process and a problem with GPs accessing the reports once they had been authorised. We are happy to say that these issues have now been resolved and the service should improve going forward.

If you wish to discuss your specific experience then please do not hesitate to contact the customer care team on 01270 278098 who will be happy to assist you. Sue Hamman, Divisional Professional Lead, Diagnostic & Clinical Support Services
