What I liked
My Husband was a patient on Ward 5, During his stay there the care and treatment he received was exemplary. As his wife I was continually involved by both the nursing staff and his Consultant as to his condition. We were both treated with respect and dignity by everyone, whether they were part of the nursing team, medical staff or domestic staff. I was particularly impressed by the standards of cleanliness and hygiene. I watched staff coming in and leaving the ward and it was obvious that it was an automatic response to clean their hands. When a patient was discharged I saw how the area was cleaned. Not just the mattress,as I have seen in other hospitals, but the bed frame (underneath too) and every part of the furniture. It was the first time we'd had any involvement with the hospital and we could not recommend it highly enough. In comparison with past experiences at another hospital it felt a very safe place to be, We noticed when we were leaving the Ward that they had been runners up in a competition regarding Best Ward. They definitely desrve to be winners.
What could be improved
It may be a good idea for me not to mention the food !!!
