"treatment of lumbar one fracture"

About: Countess Of Chester Hospital

i fell on concrete and suffered a lumbar one fracture and was taken to a and e the paramedics in the ambulance where the only people involved in my care that treated me in the correct way , even before i had an X-ray a stupid nurse lifted me right on my fracture sight onto a bed pan i screamed in agony, even i know that if the fracture is unstable its extremely dangerous to do this! again in x ray instead of being lifted over onto the x ray bed on a stretcher they told me i had to move to get on it in agony with each small movement! i was admitted to the emergency ward with the drug addicts and the night staff spent their time arguing in full view of the patients no one got looked after or basic needs met , totally unprofessional! i was sent home to linger for 8 wks before i even saw a consultant! who when i did see them panicked at the state of my bone which had lost all its height leaving me with kyphosis and a curve in my spine of over 50% then put me in a brace but the damage was done it was too late after 8 wks as the bone had set that way! i was then referred to the royal liverpool hospital which was fantastic and everything about the royal leaves the countess in disgrace for the lack of care they give! i could tell i needed some sort of support but the nurse on the ward thought they knew better and said no you don't need a brace and you shouldn't be in pain with a back fracture , so have they experienced one? of course they hadn't! if you get to the royal within 2 wks of a back fracture they can fix you right away with keyhole surgery and move up the bone height after this time frame its too late and your stuck with major pain and disability the only way it can be put right now is very very invasive full oestomtomy which is risky!
