"Very pleasant experience visiting St Mary's"

About: Queen Mary's Hospital

Yesterday I brought some friends to visit a patient in the Rose Ward.

We were treated courteously and helpfully throughout.

I was particularly glad that, as a result of telephoning beforehand, the Administrator obtained permission for us to come at an earlier time than the stated visiting hours of 4.00 to 8.00.

(Surely 4.00 is late, though?)

One point I need to make, and at concerns car parking.

The rate seems to be £2.00 per hour (or part of an hour) now, not £1.50 as per the web site.

I had to pay £6.00 for just over two hours, and I had to find it all in coins.

This should be made clear for potential visitors.

Dear Philip Bedford Smith,

My name is Claire and I am the administrator for the Patient Experience Team. Many thanks for your comments about how courteously you were treated whilst on Rose Ward. I believe the visiting hours are standard across the whole Trust, but will pass the comments onto the Operational Manager of the service.

I will also pass your comments about the car parking charges to the relevant managers at Queen Mary's Hospital, as although we have services on the site, we are not responsible for the car park. I will ask them to update the website, so not to confuse those that are visiting services on the site.
