About a year ago I suffered a broken shoulder and have had consistent issues since with the post op treatment – but only from the service I have received from my GP.
Due to complications post op I had been dealing with a lot of pain and feel that my GP has been obstructive and against me getting the right treatment, he has refused or gone against prescriptions and recommendations for painkillers and treatment cream from the hospital consultant(s) and even amended a strong painkiller prescription to paracetamol only.
The hospital had recommended during a 3 month post op review that the I be given stronger painkillers and to also receive physio - This GP has consistently refused everything that has been recommended by other healthcare professionals / doctors.
I have even had to see a second GP at the practice in order to try and obtain the treatment I feel is required and am annoyed that my own GP has consistently tried to block me getting the right and recommended treatment. This has meant I am still suffering over a year after the broken shoulder.
I have made a complaint against the GP to the GMC and wanted make my feelings known on a public form.
