I was diagnosed with heart failure in May 2015. And was advised I was to have an urgent ct scan to diagnose my condition. My consultant rang to arrange this with the ct department in Preston on the phone during my consultation but was told due to sickness and short staffing there would be a wait. I waited three months. It's now nearly November and I've only just had the stress test done and I'm still unsure what my prognosis is and what my treatment options are going to be.
I had an appointment scheduled for November and was hoping to receive my prognosis but this has just been cancelled and put back to the end of January. I'm a young single mum of one, struggling with several serious health conditions with no support so the stress of waiting is making my conditions worse.
I know the nhs is over stretched and budgets are tight and most of my waiting has been due to the scans I needed performing at Preston but by the time I get my prognosis I'll have waited over 30 weeks and not the 18 weeks nhs targets for treatments state. Therefore I can't recommend this cardiology service.
