I would like to kindly thank the doctor and their team for their professionalism , kindness and compassion.
They did a truly superb job in helping me get through what was a very stressfull, fraught and unpleasant experience. The procedure took a full hour as my wisdom tooth was found to be fused solid to my jaw bone and required topping up the quantity of anaesthetic. Upon reflection I believe that I made an uninformed decision in opting for this procedure to be done under local anaesthetic. This is because I had not been priorly advised in my initial consultation of the potential problems associated with removal of the wisdom tooth other than the post op risk of potential permanent nerve damage which is not dependant upon the choice of anaesthesia. However, I was fully appraised of the possible risks and complications of undergoing general anaesthetic as opposed to local. Suffice to say that if I had of known of the potential extraction complications I would certainly have opted for general anaesthetic and spared myself the horrendous trauma of undergoing the extraction under local anaesthesia.
