"My hip replacement."

About: Pontefract General Infirmary

On 7th October 2015 I was admitted to the Elective Orthopaedic Suite at Pontefract Hospital. From my pre-op assessment a month before as well as an Education session to meet physiotherapists, occupational therapists and actually handling the hip replacement,

I cannot speak too highly of my experience. I arrived at 7am to meet my designated nurse, the theatre assistant, anaesthetist and consultant, all of whom greeted me personably and talked through what would be happening. Even the porter was animated and put me at ease as I was wheeled to theatre. The post op nursing and care was also excellent with nothing left to chance as drugs were administered. Staff were kind, caring and the epitome of professionalism. I had the luxury of my own room which was spotless and cleaned on a regular basis. I could not have had a better experience and everyone involved has my very grateful thanks. This must be the NHS at its best - you were all amazing!
