"Colchester General going from strength to..."

About: Colchester General Hospital

Today I have collected my wife from Mersea ward after a thyroid Op. As a member of staff (Runs Radiography at Essex County) she's not a good patient, in fact, like me, she is impatient!

However, the treatment she received was second to none, every member of staff she and I came across were professional, caring, concerned and very friendly. Her operation was carried out by a doctor on Elmstead day unit, after which, she was transferred to the newly refurbished Mersea ward where she spent three days recovering. We both would like to send our thanks to both units.

On picking her up today,we both saw the new CEO and introduced ourselves. What a very nice person they are. Extremely approachable, committed and there is no doubt about it, proud to come to a hospital with such dedicated and caring staff and from what they say, have the right attitude in treating them as the biggest asset the hospital possesses. What with all the other new directors and new management, who think the same way. Colchester General Hospital is on the road to excellence all round. Pleased as punch!
